About Edward O’Connor

Ed was previously the Director of Marketing and Training for the HECM Division of FirstBank. Prior to that he held management positions in 2 other reverse mortgage companies and was the president of Advanced Funding Solutions Inc., a reverse mortgage broker in NY licensed in multiple states.

He has been involved in the financial services industry since 1985 and owned his own accounting and tax practice for 16 years prior to being in the mortgage industry. He is still a licensed Enrolled Agent by the IRS.  He energetically works with senior organizations, as well as senior homeowners and their trusted advisors to promote the benefits of the various reverse mortgage programs available today.

Ed is the founding co-Chairman of the Long Island chapter of the NAIPC. With a Bachelor’s degree in Finance from the NY Institute of Technology in Old Westbury he has the experience to answer your questions.  He is also a retired Nassau County Police Detective.

Being involved in reverse mortgage transactions from all sides, including secondary, he is uniquely qualified to answer the most technical of questions on this subject. Ed is also the author of a NYS Bar Association approved CLE class on reverse mortgages – one of only a few non-attorneys to do so for a Continuing Education Course course.
